Total Lunar Eclipse On Wednesday Will Be a Rare 'Selenelion'

I have always been interested in celestial events and all things pertaining to astronomy. It's fascinating to star gaze on a dark clear night, look through a telescope, cloud watch and watch the sun rise and set; especially when it looks like a gigantic ball of fire.

This earth and the heavens above are all the fingerprints of God. How awesome and majestic are the creations of Him. The Holy Bible has verses pertaining to the heavens and I love to ponder upon them. Here are some of those:

Genesis 1:1 (KJV)

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 1:14-15 (KJV)

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

Psalm 8:3-4 (NIV)

3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?

Luke 21:25-26 (ASV)

25 And there shall be signs in the sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the billows; 26 men fainting for fear, and the expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

Joel 2:31 (NASB)

31 "The sun will be turned to darkness And the moon into blood Before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.

Revelation 6:12-13 (NASB)

The Sixth Seal

12 I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; 13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind.

Jeremiah 10:2 (NASB)

2 Thus says the Lord, "Do not learn the way of the nations, And do not be terrified by the signs of the heavens Although the nations are terrified by them;

Psalm 148:3 (KJV)

3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.
